You never know how much a little dog means to you until their gone but the four years we had with him were very good. He was always the companion, lap warmer and protector of the house who thought he was a Doberman, not a fifteen pound Dachshund but he wore the colors just the same! He gave out more love than anyone would expect and would either greet us at the door with his tennis ball in his mouth or he’d be in my face licking it uncontrollably with nothing I could do to stop him.

He was given to us for just a short four years but each day of those years are quite memorable and now he's making a great lap warmer to some very special people in my life in heaven.

As for losing Eddie, words can't be put down on paper or on a web page to how much he meant. He was as loyal as they come. Mr. Protector, Mr. Bed Hog, you name it and Eddie was there, except outdoors in the cold! Even with his bad back he'd give 100% to come up each morning and lay a wet kiss on me and then lay either on me or next to me. If I had to leave to go somewhere, boy would I ever pay for it. When they say, "Dogs don't have feelings...", they've never owned a Dachshund! Hearts of gold and brains that constantly think...what can I get into...  Edward came to me from a Dachshund Rescue, the best $100.00 I've ever spent.  There can't be another "Eddie", he was as one of a kind the Jager was, 100% heart of gold to their final days to their owner. Let me rephrase that; I was 100% loyal to them as they owned me! Had it not been for his back pain which made him fight with my other Doxie Hunter and the chance of a helper getting bit trying to separate them or not having a helper here and Hunter getting hurt REALLY bad, I couldn't let that happen. Regrets, sure but hind site's 20/20 like always but I can't backup and do things different. If that were possible all people, dogs and other pets would live longer.  I was just blessed to have this guy as long as I did and now he's with Jagermeister in doggy heaven!
